Microsoft Fabric – Next-Generation End-to-End Analytics Platform
We implement Microsoft Fabric – a unified solution for Data Engineering, Lakehouse, Data Science, Real-time Analytics and Power BI on OneLake. One product instead of a fragmented data stack.
Unified Platform
Data Engineering, Warehouse, Data Science and Power BI in one SaaS product
OneLake
One data lake for the entire tenant in Delta Parquet format, no silos
Direct Lake
Power BI reads directly from Delta tables – ImportMode speed, DirectQuery freshness
Spark & T-SQL
Spark notebooks for Data Engineering, T-SQL Warehouse for analysts
What is Microsoft Fabric?
Microsoft Fabric is a unified analytics SaaS platform introduced in 2023, integrating six workloads under one roof: Data Engineering (Spark), Data Warehouse (T-SQL), Data Factory (ETL/ELT), Data Science (ML), Real-time Analytics (KQL) and Power BI.
At its core is OneLake – a single multi-cloud data lake in Delta/Parquet format. Shortcut technology allows accessing data in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage without copying. In Direct Lake mode, Power BI reads directly from OneLake with import speed and DirectQuery freshness.
Who is Microsoft Fabric For?
- Data teams replacing a fragmented stack (Synapse + Databricks + Power BI) with one solution
- Companies building a modern Lakehouse architecture with medallion pattern (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
- Data Engineering teams needing Spark-based ETL/ELT pipelines with versioned tables
- Data analysts and Data Scientists sharing common data from OneLake
- Organizations with real-time IoT or event streaming requirements (KQL database, Eventhouse)
Typical Microsoft Fabric Project and Timeline
Typical Microsoft Fabric Use Cases
Modern Data Lake (Lakehouse)
Medallion architecture – Bronze (raw data), Silver (cleansed), Gold (business ready) – on OneLake with automated Spark pipelines.
Consolidated Enterprise Reporting
Replacing Azure Synapse + Power BI Premium with a single Fabric F64 capacity node with Direct Lake Power BI reports for the whole company.
Real-time IoT Analytics
Eventstream ingests data from IoT devices into a KQL database; Real-time Power BI dashboards show current production status.
Predictive ML Models
Data Scientists train models in Fabric Data Science (MLflow), results are stored in OneLake and connected to Power BI reports.
